Still Here, Elsewhere (2026)
Still Here, Elsewhere is a documentary set in the frontline regions of Ukraine, following Ihor, a volunteer who evacuates civilians from villages caught in the shifting “grey zones” . As he delivers aid and helps people make the decision to stay or leave, the film reveals a picture of lives in transition. Each encounter offers a different understanding of home, for some it is land and ancestry, for some a few belongings packed into bags, for some it is people and memories carried across distance, and for others something that cannot be rebuilt elsewhere. Ihor himself lost his home in 2014 during the occupation of the Luhansk region, and his personal loss quietly shapes his work and the film’s emotional core.
Moving between ruined villages and uncertain futures, Ihor’s vehicle becomes a space of passage — neither home nor destination — like the Charon’s boat crossings into the unknown. Through intimate observation and moments of quiet reflection, the film explores home not as a fixed place, but as something cherished and evolving. Still Here, Elsewhere asks whether home can be destroyed, or whether it lives in memory, connection, and belonging.
The film is currently in production. Estimated release date January 2027
